Tyler Trotter, Director of Web Design
As the Director of Web Design here at ReachSmart Interactive, being able to come into work everyday and design is literally something I've wanted to do ever since I was a kid. I started working in the office back in 2004, right out of college, as the sole graphic designer at RSI; but since then, our department has grown to include Sr. Designer Nate Gulledge, Designer Hannah Carroll and two Junior Designers Ashley Rupchock and Haley Frano. ReachSmart Interactive offers my team and me the opportunity to put our own creative talent into projects and the freedom to see our concepts through to the end.
We work in all areas of design, including front-end development, website design, and ad creation. Whether for print or online media, our team bounces ideas off of each other and works collaboratively to quickly transform concepts into reality. In addition to our cooperative work environment, RSI invests in its designers through workshops and conferences. We regularly attend the annual Converge SE conference held right here in Columbia.
In the office, we like to keep things pretty relaxed. Jimmy Hendrix can be heard coming from our office every Friday afternoon, and we pretty much play our Rock and/or Roll (whichever we prefer) music as loud as we can, while still being able to concentrate. We also understand that being productive includes working well with those around us. So, every Thursday our design team goes out for a weekly designer lunch to get some food and a little break from the daily grind.
