Amit Palshikar, Vice President of Application Engineering
Hi, I'm Amit Palshikar, head of the Applications Development department. After being at ReachSmart for seven years, you could say I have a pretty good understanding of how things work around here. In our department, we are a small team who work together designing and developing reporting systems, conducting website maintenance, developing new web applications and destroying the Design department in office paintball wars. We often work together as a team to move a project into completion, but each one of us brings our own skills and abilities to the table.
Those who work with me know that I don't like to micromanage my team. I understand that there is often more than one way to tackle a project, and as long as deadlines are met, my team is free to get there any way they choose. Providing resources for those around me is a key element in making sure projects are done effectively, so if there are books or programs that my team requests, I'll make sure they have the tools to do their jobs well.
Our office environment allows each of us to learn something new almost every day, and though we err on the technical side most of the time (c'mon, it's our job), we like to keep things light, too. Like the time when we put a world of hurt on the Design department a few years back at an office paintball excursion. I like to think of that day as an intense team building experience.
